Directions:
From I5 in Redding take the 299 Eureka/Weaverville exit heading west. Drive about 10 miles towards the
Whiskeytown Recreation Area. Take a left on JFK Memorial road by the visitors center. Follow the road to the dam and turn right
over it. Drive about 3 miles until you reach the Brandy Creek parking lot. There will be a small dirt parking area on the left with
Brandy Creek road heading uphill next to it. This is the starting spot. If the area is full there's parking across the street.
The Trail:
Start by climbing up Brandy Creek Road. The pavement ends shortly and turns into a dirt fire road. Keep
straight up the dirt road past any gates or turns. You'll eventually hit a spot where the road takes a left and to your right will be
Sheep Camp road. Stay left and keep climbing up the road. After about 3 miles start looking for a sign on your right marked Brandy creek trail. Take
a right onto this single track trail, and watch for hikers. It will descend and eventually hit a dirt road, which is Sheep Camp road. Take a right and start
climbing up the hill. The road meets back up with Brandy Creek Road, where you turn left and look for the Brandy Creek Trail sign again on your left. You'll probably
be able to see it once you reach the top of the hill. Descend down the trail going over rocks, roots, etc. Once again the trail spits you back out onto
Brandy Creek Road. Descend down the road a little ways and look for another Brandy Creek Trail sign on your left. This one will be up on a little plateau.
Take it and descend some more. This part of the trail is longer than the other two and takes you close to the creek. You'll eventually hit another split. Stay left
closer to the creek. If you go right it takes you back to Brandy Creek Road. The trail ends back at the parking area where you started.
